LISETTE + JOEL ENGAGEMENT

          Lisette and Joel’s engagement session was very special. It was a gift given to Lisette by her sweet cousin, Jessica, who is also a client of mine. Before their engagement session, Lisette and I met at Shoe’s, Cup and Cork, a favorite local coffee shop of mine in Old Town Leesburg. We polished some details for their engagement, and talked about her wedding planning. We had a blast!

         Lisette and Joel’s engagement took place at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, VA. It was a rainy day but we got lucky when the rain stopped just in time for their photo session.

         Lisette and Joel’s first met up at Reston Town Center in 2012. They quickly became friends and enjoyed each others company, read the Bible, and did studies together. After 2 years of dating, Joel popped the question to Lisette, surrounded by their close friends and families. She said yes!

          “On July 25, 2014 Joel proposed at Reston town center; the place where we met for the first time. It was a surprise I shared with his family and mine and my closest friends. I couldn’t have been happier! I was tricked into believing that I had to accompany my friend to his company dinner. Though at one point, I didn’t want to go because it was such a hassle trying to find something to wear.  Noted, Im quite the investigator and the more I asked questions and got no answers, the more I didn’t want to go to this “company dinner”. But alas, I found a dress, put on heels and walked into a huge surprise. This included a guitar serenade by my brother, balloons and the man of my dreams on one knee with a beautiful ring. It was an amazing day.”

        Last month, Lisette, Joel and I got to visit their wedding venue, The Rust Manor House, and met with their amazing event coordinator, Jackie. I just couldn’t pass the chance to photograph Lisette’s gorgeous engagement ring one more time so I did.          Lisette and Joel will be walking down the aisle on September 30, 2016 at Rust House Manor in Leesburg, Va surrounded by the people that have supported them throughout their journey. And I am honored and very excited to be their photographer to document their big day! [smile]
